Jimmy Jacobs vs. Jon Moxley
Jacobs retrieves a strap from his boot and repeatedly whips Moxley. Moxley locks in a modified Texas Cloverleaf, but it’s going to take more than that to make Jacobs quit. They make their way to the ring apron, and Jacobs lands a spear on the apron. Jacobs positions Moxley on a chair out connects with a volley of mounted punches, but Moxley gets back to his feet and powerbombs Jacobs into the guard rail. Moxley finds a spike and drives it into Jacobs’ forehead. Moxley grinds the spike across Jacobs’ forehead, and Jacobs is busted wide open. Moxley looks to have hit a gusher, and Jacob’s face and chest are now covered in blood. Jacobs fights back, but Moxley counters into a backslide into a Fujiwara arm bar. Jacobs gets his hands on a spike and drills John Moxley, but Moxley isn’t bleeding nearly as badly as Jacobs. We’ve got a slugfest in the middle of the ring, but Jacobs takes control with a springboard flying Ace Crusher. Moxley goes for a lariat, but Jacobs counters with a spear. Crusher locks in the End Time, but Moxley counters into a Hook & Ladder. Moxley slaps Jacobs, but Jacobs spits in his face. Moxley ties Jacobs’ arms behind his back and grabs a chair from the outside. Moxley heads for Jacobs, but Jacobs lands a drop toe hold that sends Moxley face-first into the chair. Moxley gets back to his feet, but Jacobs locks in the End Time with his arms tied behind his back. Jacobs frees himself and drills Moxley with the chair. Moxley gets back to his feet, but Jacobs nails him with the char again. Each man has a spike, but Jacobs takes Moxley to the mat and drives the spike into Moxley’s groin. Jacobs grinds the spike into Moxley’s going, and Moxley has no choice but to quit.
Match Result: Jimmy Jacobs defeats Jon Moxley with a spike to the going.

Jacobs grabs a mic after the match. If you’ve been keeping up with his life and his career, you know he’s had to come back from some pretty heinous stuff lately. But his comeback and his life won’t be complete until, for the first time in his life, he wins a major championship. This is going to be the last time you see him jump off something so high and bleed so much, because he’s going back to wrestling. This is the first step in his quest to win the Open the Freedom Gate Championship.

JON MOXLEY vs. JIMMY JACOBS — I Quit match
After a lengthy video package on the Moxley (heel) vs. Jacobs (face) feud, Moxley cut a promo telling Jacobs to get out here. No sign of Jacobs, who came off the balcony with a splash on Moxley to jump start the match. Moxley weathered the storm and took control of the match. Moxley tried some knee strikes that didn’t come close to Jacobs. JC: Moxley’s an odd bird. At times, he doesn’t look sure of himself as a wrestler, yet he’s able to get his sadistic character over with a brawling in-ring style. Jacobs was bleeding heavily from the forehead. Moxley was then busted open.
At 10:00, Moxley tied Jacobs’s hands behind his back and grabbed a chair. Jacobs was able to avoid a chair shot with a basement dropkick. Jacobs then applied the End Time submission with no access to his hands, which was impressive. Moxley then grabbed the railroad spike and jabbed it into Jacobs’s head over and over. Jacobs refused to quit. He then escaped the tie-up and chaired Moxley in the face, with Moxley getting his hands up to absorb the shot, followed by a second. Jacobs then took the spike and jabbed it into Jacobs’s groin, causing Moxley to quit.
WINNER: Jacobs in 14:00. Brutal match based on a strong back-story, which made this more than just . Jacobs’s bleeding was pretty gruesome and over-the-top even if it fit the “grudge match” format and nature of the feud. SR: Great crowd heat and just an awesome spectacle. (****)
– After the match, Jacobs said he’s come back from a lot in his life, but it won’t be complete until he wins a major singles title. He said this is the last time in a long time he’s bleeding and jumping off balconies. Jacobs said his path to the DGUSA Title begins tonight. Good promo.
