If you read my pro wrestling column in Thursday’s (9/23) Fifty-Two Weekends and/or you’re a big fan of Jimmy Jacobs, then you already know that the longtime independent wrestler will be in action tonight (9/24) in Berwyn, where he’ll be defending AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined’s tag-team belts in Tyler Black’s last indy match before heading to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Jacobs also will be in a Chicago street fight grudge match against Jon Moxley at Dragon Gate USA’s Untouchable 2010 pay-per-view taping on Saturday (9/25) in Chicago, where Bryan Danielson (WWE’s U.S. champion Daniel Bryan) will wrestle one of his last matches for DGUSA. Now, as promised, here’s much more about what Jacobs loves about DGUSA, controversial angles, what he’s learned from his many years in wrestling and much more. Defining Moment

Jacobs has been a staple of AAW, whether in singles action or during his current run as tag-team champions with Black. The two often have been paired together including as Doing It for Her in MTV’s short-lived “Wrestling Society X” and as part of the Age of the Fall in Ring of Honor. But tonight’s (9/24) AAW match at Defining Moment will truly be a must-see.

When it comes to independent pro wrestling, one of the most well-known names is Jimmy Jacobs.

Not only was he a big part of Ring of Honor – which presents events regularly in Chicago Ridge – but he’s also appeared on MTV’s “Wrestling Society X.”

Southlanders also are familiar with Jacobs from his time in Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South, which has run shows in several Chicago-area locations.

It will be a big weekend for Jacobs.

On Sept. 24, he will defend the AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined tag-team championships with his partner Tyler Black in what is billed as Black’s last independent match prior to going to World Wrestling Entertainment. Continue reading »
